As the Resource Director, you will lead our resource management efforts, overseeing the allocation of both internal and freelance talent across the US, with a particular focus on the Creative department.

Resource Management involving casting, mobility, and hiring sits at the heart of the Jack. You will work closely with senior leadership, including the Global Chief Creative Officer and Global Head of Strategy, to ensure the right people are assigned to the right projects at the right time—optimizing talent allocation to maximize their impact. Your role involves balancing creative opportunities, client needs, and talent skillsets all while proactively managing to financial realities. Driving exceptional creative output, utilization and billability while maintaining a supportive and productive environment for all team members.

Your deep understanding of our talent capabilities and career goals, plus ability to navigate complexity of how experiential work gets done is complemented by your strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This role requires a high level of empathy, dedication to helping talent develop to achieve their goals, diplomacy, and ability to glean insights from data to fuel success for Jack in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Resource Allocation and Optimization:
    • Partner closely with Creative and Strategy leadership to ensure every ask receives the best possible talent tailored specifically to that ask.
    • Proactivity build strong, positive relationships with all levels of talent, account teams & project managers – act as a widely-known, helpful resource and problem solver.
    • Present resource configurations to leadership, supporting informed decision-making regarding project casting.
    • Own and oversee the day-to-day utilization of the resource planning platform, ensuring accurate tracking of staff and freelance availability, project assignments, and overall capacity.
    • Monitor and resolve any resource conflicts, maintaining a balance between creativity, timelines, and budget.
  2. Capacity Planning and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with functional leaders and department heads to forecast resource needs, identifying potential talent gaps and providing solutions.
    • Continuously assess team capacity and workloads, ensuring optimal use of both internal and freelance talent.
    • Provide consultative guidance on resource allocation for client projects and pitches.
  3. Financial Management:
    • Monitor utilization rates, billable hours, and overall financial performance for agency teams.
    • Ensure that resources are allocated cost-effectively, with a focus on delivering high standards for creative, strategy and execution with defined financial targets.
    • Proactively raise issues when utilization or billability is out of balance and work with stakeholders to address them.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Serve as the senior-most point of contact for all resource-related queries, ensuring smooth communication across departments.
    • Lead resource-related meetings, presenting actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
    • Align resource management with organizational goals, supporting the agency process while meeting financial objectives.
  5. Process Improvement:
    • Continuously improve resource management processes, tools, and systems, leveraging industry best practices and new technologies.
    • Maintain and update resource tracking systems regularly, ensuring transparency and efficiency across teams.
    • Implement innovative solutions that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of resource management operations.
  6. Freelancer Management:
    • Oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and management of freelance talent across creative and strategy disciplines.
    • Work with the team to ensure a positive experience for freelancers, streamlining processes and providing support throughout their engagement.
    • Ensure we are expanding and maintaining a strong network of freelance talent, ensuring we have the right people available when needed.
    • Proactively provide guidance on opportunities to transition freelance talent to fulltime when appropriate.
  7. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor the Resource Management team.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that emphasizes exceptional work, talent development, best practices, and proactive resource planning.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for Creative talent and the output of agencies.
  • Solid understanding of and familiarity with agency creative process and project lifecycles.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
  • Experience balancing creative and operational needs, with a focus on budgets, schedules, and resource utilization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Precursive.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in managing both internal teams and external freelancers, with a track record of optimizing talent resources.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.

In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $125,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually (potentially flexible up to $175,000.00), depending on relevant factors including experience, internal equity and market considerations. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.
