A study has shown that just a brief, subliminal exposure to the Apple logo actually increases creativity.
Wait, what?
University students were split in groups, one of which were presented with Apple logos and the other with IBM. Performing an identical task, the ‘Apple’ group exceeded in terms of creativity. This was also conducted against a number of other brands, for example ‘honesty’ being increased by exposure to the Disney logo over that of E!
Apparently, Apple have been so successful in fostering their brand personality of ‘thinking different’, that it has a distinct neurological effect on us. Scary stuff.
So I suppose next time you’re hitting creative roadblocks, just look at the back of your phone for a second. Thanks Apple!
