Yesterday morning, Fidelity CMO Jim Speros, speaking at the Boston Ad Club, made a great point about gaining trust.
“It’s something that’s EARNED, not assumed.” And to gain trust, “you’ve gotta get some points on the board early”, to gain some early victories with your colleagues, with your clients.
And in a recent podcast with Bill Simmons, Barkley said “On team sports, we don’t care what color or religion you are as long as you can play. You know who I DON”T want to play with? Guys who suck at their sports!”
Whether in sports or in business, let’s face it: you’re not passing anyone the ball until they’ve proven they’re going to help you win.
