The English rock band is back with a new album and an accompanying summer tour. However, prior to embarking on this traditional path, the boys have come up with a plan to excite fans and get them re-engaged with music’s nearly forgotten album format.
During the month of June, fans can go to their website (kaiserchiefs.com) and listen to 20 one-minute samples of their new songs. For the price of £7.50, you pick your 10 favorite tracks, organize them in any fashion that you see fit, and add album artwork.
After you have created your custom album, the band provides a personal fan page where anyone can see and listen to your unique compilation.
What takes this experience to the next level is the fact that every time someone chooses to buy your work, the band will pay you £1 from their royalties.
It’s a great example of how a band/brand can increase fan engagement and show their appreciation for the people that matter most.
