The launch of Bill Simmons’ new website, Grantland.com, is a perfect lesson in just how little has really changed.
Here we have THE most widely read sportswriter in America, and THE voice of this generation of sports fans…launching what is in effect a long-form prose magazine…online.
He and ESPN, his corporate backer are betting hard that what people still crave above all else is Great content from relatable, insightful writers.
It’s not about fitting what he’s saying within 140 characters or less; but about creating 1 Character people will keep coming back to follow.
The more things change…
