Expo 2020 Dubai | Saudi Folklore Performance Group
Creating a heartwarming, authentic, welcoming cultural show
The Saudi Folklore Performance Group comprised 30+ performers from across the Kingdom to perform at Expo every day, multiple times a day for six months, creating a heartwarming, authentic, welcoming and rarely seen cultural show, driving footfall, and adding value to the Pavilion experience. Representing folkloric dances from multiple regions in Saudi and including authentic costuming and props, the group also welcomed and participated in over 45 cultural collaborations with other international participants including Columbia, Thailand, Spain, and Armenia among others. In terms of duration, regional variation and folkloric styles expressed and amount of cultural collaboration, such a project has never been undertaken in the history of Saudi folkloric dance. More than 780 shows at the Pavilion and other Expo venues averaged more than 200 people.
