First Take
A sophisticated and elegant design with some swagger
Bold, brash, and audacious – these key words drove our design concept for a new home for First Take. High above the Manhattan skyline, a view from the penthouse, the architecture and interior design lean into the swagger that makes this show so compelling. Dark and rough steel, vintage leather with brass tacks, hewn wood, aged copper, and staggered metal grating — balanced with sophisticated and elegant finishes of marble, steel, wood, and stone. We wanted this space to evoke the personalities of the show with a refined elegance. Even the window frames have an edgy arrogance to the.
The mobile desk plays center stage – a unique design influenced by shapes of an authentic vintage car. The form follows swooping arcs, the sides reminiscent of front end grills in polished brass, and accented with white edge lighting and an edge lit glass interior.
The walls feature a carved marble wall, bookcases with props from world travelers, a bespoke show logo mosaic border, and a dramatic LED window surround, turning this modest-sized studio into a master suite with astonishing views from the clouds. The integration of high-resolution LED technology woven into the set pieces strikes the perfect balance between tech-forward and content-centric moments and set pieces that ooze character and personality.
The latest in a long line of incredible partnerships with ESPN, we’re thrilled to take First Take to new heights.
