LAN 50
Creating a Legendary Gaming Event
After a 13-year hiatus, Nvidia set out to reignite its bond with the gaming community by reviving the iconic GeForce LAN—timed to celebrate the launch of the GeForce RTX 50 series, including the flagship RTX 5090, and build momentum ahead of CES. The vision was to recreate the raw energy of classic LAN parties—where gamers physically connect, compete, and play side by side—while showcasing next-generation technology in an immersive, high-impact environment. Nvidia partnered with Jack Morton to manage and execute the large-scale experience, transforming the Mandalay Bay Convention Center into a gritty, industrial-style gaming arena brought to life through dynamic lighting and bold brand textures rather than overproduced décor. Designed to host up to 400 BYOC players across a 50-hour continuous gaming marathon, the event delivered nonstop tournaments, contests, raffles, and partner-driven product giveaways.
Jack Morton oversaw every operational detail, from registration website development and ticketing to seamless onsite check-in and production. A massive central stage anchored key presentations and live competitions, while partner booths and custom-built “garage build” PC displays highlighted the intersection of grassroots gaming culture and cutting-edge performance—flanking the highly anticipated RTX 5090. The experience extended globally through satellite events in Berlin, Taipei, and Beijing, reinforcing Nvidia’s worldwide community reach. Culminating in a major product reveal following the CES keynote, GeForce LAN 50 successfully blended nostalgia with innovation—driving pre-CES buzz, energizing fans, and cementing Nvidia’s leadership in the gaming industry.
THE IMPACT
The GeForce LAN 50 successfully hosted approximately 250 gamers, reviving the beloved event while creating an unforgettable experience for attendees. Feedback from the Nvidia team was overwhelmingly positive, with participants fully engaged in the interactive gaming environment. The presence of Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, further elevated the event’s prestige and cemented its success.
More than just a gaming event, the GeForce LAN 50 reinforced Nvidia’s deep connection with its fan base while setting the stage for the RTX 50 series launch. Nvidia’s vision was brought to life, creating meaningful interactions and lasting impact.
