Legion 7 Savage Skills Series: The Rally Challenge

The world's first mashup of digital and physical racing

In May 2022, Lenovo launched the Legion 7, a new gaming innovation that pushes the boundaries of mobility in a laptop. With high-performance hardware, smooth graphics, robust design and long battery life, it’s the perfect combination of power, style and stealth.

To successfully launch the Legion 7, Lenovo needed help showcasing its capabilities to the gaming community, an esteemed audience with a keen eye for innovation and technical specs. So, we put the Legion 7 laptop through its paces in the most extreme, never-before-seen stunt gaming stunt. Introducing, Savage Skills Series: The Rally Challenge, the world-first mashup of digital and physical racing.

Rally driver Frank Bird took control of a M-Sport rally car, while Jimmy Broadbent, a professional eSports sim racer, sat in the passenger seat with the Legion laptop to create a virtual wheel. Jimmy used the Lenovo Legion 7 laptop to compete with Frank’s lap time in a real-time live vs. sim racing competition.

This unique mashup of technology and athleticism pushed both racers to their limits, as they navigated through challenging virtual and physical terrain. The end result was the most extreme hot laps experience ever! One that perfectly demonstrated that you really can play anywhere on the Legion 7.

The Savage Skills Series and Legion 7 laptop premiered at an exclusive influencer event at BOXPARK in London, where our strategically crafted audience of loyal customers and professional gamers viewed a feature film of The Rally Challenge and challenged to beat Jimmy’s hot lap time which created the ultimate product demo. A Lenovo professional also talked through the Legion 7’s capabilities which ran into a Q&A and meet and great with Jimmy himself.
