Radiance World
Helping children get excited about learning again
Across the world due to the pandemic, education was disrupted. Classrooms were closed and many children were stuck at home and left to their own ‘devices’. Unsurprisingly, learning was no longer a priority for students and became a source of stress and anxiety –for both parents and children.
Luxury skincare and makeup brand Clé de Peau Beauté had an idea. What if we could help children get excited about learning again?
Clé de Peau Beauté believes that the key to a better world lies in unlocking the power of girls through education. So, it made sense for the brand to create an idea that would inspire girls to become interested in learning once again.
We wanted to speak to children in a language they love and understand: gaming. Young girls are drawn to creativity and like to design, personalize, and nurture their environments. The game would need to take this into consideration and deliver learning in an immersive environment designed to engage their interests. The metaverse provided the perfect engagement opportunity, but where? We needed a platform that was kid friendly, and parent approved. Roblox was the answer.
To understand our audience, who better to work with than young developers?
We consulted with teenage developers who live and breathe the metaverse to create our experience. The result: Radiance World on Roblox, an educational tool that spoke to children in a language they understood. We designed and built every aspect of the game – from the game environment to the gameplay. This fun STEM-focused game empowered children to embrace learning through STEM-based gameplay and the art of code. Players were introduced to mathematical principles in Nature such as the Fibonacci Code and concepts of fractals and symmetry. They could also experiment in code to explore how numbers play a role in Nature. A lush garden environment reflected Clé de Peau Beauté’s luxurious look and feel while simultaneously encouraging exploration. We designed the gameplay with a simple challenge for players – collect crystals and gain points which would give players access to more complex “plants” to nurture in a personal garden plot within the World.
The game was released as a part of a toolkit for Clé de Peau Beauté’s global markets. More importantly it helped inspire young minds and unlock their future potential. Now, that’s a GG!
