They Call It Late Night – with Jason Kelce

The set became a character in the show.

As the 2024-2025 NFL Playoffs began, Jason Kelce took to the field with a new late-night show on ESPN. “They Call It Late Night” brought a mix of comedy and sports talk, hosted by the future NFL Hall of Fame player, and set at Union Transfer, a live music venue in downtown Philadelphia. Our design team transformed the space with glowing arches and frames filled with fun football memorabilia. A sweeping set of stairs on the front of the stage allowed Jason, a man of the people, to come and go into the audience at will.

The house band “Snacktime” provides the music and energy from a nearby balcony. Even Jason’s wife Kylie has a spot in the house balcony for chiming in.

Jason has made the set a character in the show, using the lockers, refrigerator, shelves, and an arcade game integrated into the backdrop as bit players.

The show was a fun experiment, testing Jason’s comedic and hosting skills as it ran Fridays/Saturdays at 1am on ESPN throughout the NFL playoff season.
