That brings us to you. 

As the Business Director, you are accountable for client relationships including overall client satisfaction across multiple keys and/or anchor accounts and manages client expectations while ensuring that the work is on strategy, on time and within budget. This role will work across agency departments to grow profitable revenue and ensure the creative solution and integrity is protected.  

What you’ll be doing

  • Bring forth new ideas with clarity and conviction that are regularly adopted
  • Establish process and implement best practices within Account Management group and other teams as needed
  • Develop solutions that leverage agency offering and are mutually beneficial for the client and the agency
  • Understand clients' business and business issues and act as executive-level advisor, anticipating long-term needs
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships, ensuring that all client needs are listened to, understood, and responded to in a timely way
  • Confidently negotiate with external parties, such as influencers and media partners to create successful collaborations on behalf of the client
  • Collaborate with Strategy and Creative to ensure all creative content and agency solutions address the business need
  • Be a champion of extraordinary work – by providing inspiration, leadership, and expertise in the agency’s offerings
  • Exceed expectations with the overall quality of the work (ideas and impact), yielding recognition from the industry, award shows and our clients
  • Grow client revenue and oversee client profitability
  • Oversee client ROIand contract negotiations 
  • Act as subject matter expert on best practices bringing to bear significant experience and insight daily
  • Partners with Brand Marketing to develop Award submissions and Case Studies
  • Support Account Director(s) to run the team and advise on day-to-day challenges as they arise
  • Act as consultant to Account Director(s) to manage significant changes and/ or challenges within accounts
  • Ensure development of talent by providing ongoing constructive feedback and mentorship to Account Director(s)
  • Proactively identifies and recruits top talent within the industry

If you can do all that, you have what it takes. It might help if… 

  • Recommended years of experience: 8+ years
  • Organizational Sophistication: Has a comprehensive understanding of own or client organization. Fluent in core organizational drivers, priorities and concerns. Sees how environmental forces and leadership can affect an organization. Uses this knowledge to tailor influence and creative strategies with a clear sense of organizational impact.
  • Sales Drive: Establishes lofty goals and acts creatively to win new business that represents growth for Jack Morton. May be demonstrated by creating cross-business unit synergies or by creating opportunities triggered by market forces impacting the client. Works as an “ambassador” for Jack Morton with C-level buyers from the client system.
  • Influencing Others: Uses understanding of an organization’s structure and decision-making processes to affect the situation. Builds webs of organizational coalitions and long term relationships to enhance abilities to impact and influence others. Recognized as a role model, coalition builder and orchestrator for successful outcomes.
  • Business Vision: Formulates and implements strategic long-term plans for both Jack Morton’s business and our clients’ businesses. Is fluid, agile and timely in the implementation of long-term strategic plans and tactical actions. Uses strategic assessment to provide clear explanation to others about how to create impact within the marketplace.
